Two elderly men succumbed to COVID-19 on Sunday becoming the 51st and 52nd victims of the virus.

The first victim on Sunday was an 82-year-old who was admitted to Mater Dei on September 30 and tested negative for COVID-19 several times.

However, in view of symptoms related to COVID-19 he was tested again after he  died, and the test was positive.

The second victim was a 75-year-old man who tested positive on October 23 and passed away at Mater Dei Hospital shortly after being admitted on Sunday. 

Both also suffered other medical conditions.  

The health ministry offered its condolences and urged all to take precautions to stop the spread of the virus.
