84-year-old woman run over by van in Ħamrun
Two men also suffered grievous injuries in a separate collision in Siġġiewi
An 84-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after she was run over by a van in Ħamrun.
In a statement on Sunday, police said that the accident happened at around 8.30am, the woman was hit on the Ħamrun high street by a 67-year old man from Rabat who was driving an Isuzu van.
A medical team was soon on site and rushed the pensioner from Triq San Ġuzepp to Mater Dei Hospital. She was found to have suffered serious injuries.
Police investigations are ongoing.
Car collision in Siġġiewi
In the early hours of Sunday morning, two cars were involved in a collision in Siġġiewi.
The incident on Triq Mons. Mikiel Azzopardi involved a 36-year-old man from Siġġiewi who was driving an Audi and a 19-year-old man from Żebbug who was driving a Mazda car.
Both drivers were hospitalised and found to be suffering grievous injuries.
