Schola Cantorum Jubilate is organising a spring concert with compositions by De Prez, Elgar, Chappell, Silvey, Rutter and Diemer, among others. Some pieces will be sung a cappella and others will be accompanied by pianist Amy Rapa.
The musical director and soprano Marouska Attard will also interpret pieces by internationally-renowned composer Charles Camilleri. The promising young tenor Stanley Joe Portelli will interpret another solo, while Anne Marie Camilleri will have her solo moment with piano improvisation. All secular pieces that will be performed concern spring and the emerging nature.
The date chosen for this concert is a month after Earth Day and few days before World Environment Day. Both commemorative days remind mankind of nature’s generosity while, at the same time, create a conscience towards the respect and care for the earth
The concert will be followed by a tea party.
The concert takes place on May 22 at 4pm at Ta’ Frenċ Restaurant Courtyard, Xagħra. Tickets are available from D’Amato Records Shop in Valletta and Bargate Bookshop in Victoria.
