ATCS Consultancy Ltd, the training and business consulting company, has embarked on an ambitious task to provide holistic training in soft skills such as emotional intelligence, stress and conflict management. April will be a busy month as ATCS hosts courses related to conflict, IT risk and business continuity management.

The company meanwhile has launched online translation services and plans to move into recruitment and events and logistic services in the near future.

ATCS’s course in conflict management, which starts on April 15, will demonstrate how conflicts are best resolved, how to prevent discussions from escalating into conflicts, understand psychological tactics used and identify the best way to respond, negotiate and manage people’s emotions.

We interact with other people every day and disagreements will occur. The way we deal with disagreements determines the outcome – the disagreement can result in a conflict which takes up precious time and energy or it can encourage creativity and self-growth.

The IT risk management course, which begins on April 19, is intended to make participants aware of the various IT risks that exist, the potential impact these may have on business objectives and how to properly manage these risks.

From IT project risks to operational and security risks, the importance of managing technical risks and translating them into their business equivalents is further increased when cost-saving questions like Which risk treatment is best? and How much risk treatment is enough? need to be answered.

If they are unmanaged, IT risks will find their way into the business with dire consequences. Knowing and managing these risks, however, will enable organisations to optimise IT resources and reap more value from IT investments.

Meanwhile, ATCS is preparing to host the first International Conference on Emotional Intelligence at the Hilton Malta on September 25, with the theme Emotional Intelligence: What It Is and Why It Matters.

Success in the current business environment greatly depends on our ability to understand and effectively manage emotions, both ours and those of others. Understanding and managing emotions is key to effective communication and developing effective work relationships, which, in turn, are critical factors to meaningful collaboration, leadership, employee retention and performance.

The conference will focus on introducing basic concepts of emotional intelligence and linking these abilities to effective communication, recruitment, leadership, teamwork and relationship building.

As a result of participation in the programme, participants will increase their understanding of the role that emotional intelligence plays in the success of the workplace.

ATCS has invited leading speakers in emotional intelligence Robert Emmerling and Laura Mari Barrajon to the event, which is already being promoted internationally as a main event by the Consortium for Research on Emotional Intelligence in Organisations.

ATCS also offers in-house courses which can be tailored according to specific priorities and designed for small groups, besides training, business consultancy services like marketing, training coordination, website content management and a large range of administrative services.
