Less than two years since its formation, local band Aces Shade has successfully etched out a space for itself on the local rock scene, thanks largely to its consistent gigging schedule around the island.

In that time the band has outgrown its cover band origins, with the result it is now releasing its first original material.

Following a tasking summer schedule that saw the band juggle recording commitments with a steady stream of live gigs, Aces Shade will be launching its first releases, namely the songs The Story in My Mind and Rise, this Saturday with a live gig at Muddy Waters.

“We’re more than pleased to finally release our own songs,” said frontman Billy Lee. “We want to share our music with everyone, which is why we’re making the songs available as free downloads to anyone who subscribes to our mailing list at www.acesshade.com. ”

Download links will be sent out via e-mail the day after the launch gig.
