Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is looking for his squad to play better, starting with today’s derby against Torino.

The Bianconeri lost further ground on Serie A leaders Roma after falling 1-0 at Sassuolo on Wednesday night. With just three wins for Juve in their opening 10 league games, the pressure is mounting on Allegri.

The defending champions stand 12th in the table, 11 points behind Roma, who are riding a five-match winning streak in Italy heading into their match at Inter this evening.

“The only way to come out of this tough situation is by working hard,” Allegri told reporters.

“We have to limit the mistakes we are making. The players need to be responsible in this situation.

“We expect a difficult match on Saturday (today) and then we have Borussia Moenchengladbach on Tuesday (in the Champions League).

“Serie A is extremely tough and in order to win you need to give 100 per cent with the right attitude in every single game.”

Juve face a Torino side who have not won since September 27 and who have collected two points out of a possible 12 since.

Roma travel to Milan today aiming to make it six wins in a row against Inter.

The Giallorossi prevailed 3-1 over Udinese on Wednesday to move two points clear of Napoli, Fiorentina and Inter, who are all level on 21 points.

Inter, meanwhile, edged Bologna 1-0 on Tuesday, courtesy of Mauro Icardi’s goal, for their first win in five matches.

Inter striker Stevan Jovetic said: “Roma have started the campaign very well, playing great football and scoring so many goals. It’s going to be a difficult challenge.

“We expect a beautiful game and I can’t wait to go out on the pitch. It’s always great to play at the San Siro.”

Napoli are in hot pursuit of Roma after winning their last five league games, including a 2-0 midweek triumph over Palermo.

They take on Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris tomorrow with Gonzalo Higuain in sizzling form.

The Argentina forward is the leading scorer in Serie A with eight goals and he has found the net in Napoli’s last four games.

Fiorentina halted a three-match winless run with a 2-0 triumph at Verona in midweek.

They host a Frosinone side that has yet to win on the road.

Lazio will look to keep up their perfect run at home when they take on Milan tomorrow evening.

Lazio have won all five games at the Stadio Olimpico while Milan, coached by former Lazio player Sinisa Mihajlovic, have clinched just one win away from home.

Sassuolo make the journey to the Stadio Friuli to face Udinese sky-high after their win over Juventus.

Nicola Sansone’s free-kick earned Sassuolo their fifth win of the campaign and lifted them to fifth place.

Tomorrow’s home game against Atalanta will be Roberto Donadoni’s first in charge of Bologna, who sacked Delio Rossi this week following a disappointing start to the season. The club have lost eight of their first 10 Serie A games.

Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini is feeling the heat heading into the match at bottom side Carpi.

The Verona outfit is struggling without a win so far, level on five points with their opponents this weekend.
