AQUILINA. With deep regret we wish to announce the death of GAETANA (Gejta) of Siġġiewi, at the age of 69. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers and sisters Ġużeppi and his wife Theres, Concetta, widow of Karmnu, Alfred, widower of Angela, Salvu and his wife Kathy, Kola and his wife Vanna, Carmen, Nina, widow of Lawrence, George, Giulia, widow of Tarcisio, her nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 3 p.m. for St Nicholas parish church, Siġġiewi, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. After the celebration of Mass the funeral will proceed to the Tal-Karmnu Cemetery in Siġġiewi where she will be interred in the family grave. It would be greatly appreciated if instead of flowers, donations be made to the Community Chest Fund and to the Hospice Movement. The family regret they cannot receive visitors. The Aquilina family wish to thank all those who helped out in some way or other, but especially to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Boffa Hospital.

Numismatic coin

The Central Bank has issued a numismatic coin as part of the Europa Programme Explorers available in gold and silver versions with a face value of €50 and €10 respectively.

A Phoenician oar-driven vessel and the Europa Star, the official logo of the programme, are depicted on the reverse side of the coin.

The coins are available from the Malta Coins Distribution Centre at the main building of the Central Bank of Malta. One can also order the coins via the bank’s website under the currency section.

Treasure hunt for charity

Grupp Missjunarju Kull Bniedem Ħija will hold a car treasure hunt on May 1. Check-in and registration will take place between 1.15 p.m. and 2.15 p.m. at the Lidl car park in Luqa.

The price is €5 per person or €20 per vehicle. All proceeds will go towards missionary projects in Kenya.

Easter choco-fest

An Easter choco-fest will be held at Baystreet, Paceville on April 16 and 17 from 1 to 7 p.m. Activities will include anything from chocolate tasting to chocolate body painting. There will also be a figolli stall and children’s Easter egg decorating.

Mqabba band activities

The Mqabba Our Lady of Lilies Musical Society will be commemorating the first centenary from its foundation in 1911 with a series of activities. An open day for the family will be held on May 1 from 10 a.m. onwards at Misraħ Il-Fidwa, next to the Mqabba playing field.
