Silver Wedding

Celebrating 25 years of marriage. The ceremony took place at St Patrick’s church, Sliema, on Sunday, May 11, 1986 between LAWRENCE, son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Zammit, and KAREN MARIE, daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph M de’ Conti Manduca. Fr Victor Soler officiated at the ceremony, assisted by Fr Tony Agius and Fr Mario Vassallo.

Obituary

ZAMMIT. On May 5, at his residence, JOSEPH of Tal-Ibraġ, aged 88, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Elizabeth and her husband Joe, Reg and his wife Mary, Emmanuel and his wife Evelyn, Victor and his wife Ann and Frank, his grandchildren, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.45 p.m. for Tal-Ibraġ parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Naxxar cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Family day at Fort Rinella

Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna will hold a family heritage day at Fort Rinella on Sunday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. where the public can see the latest improvements achieved in the conservation of this historic fort and also to witness and take part in several heritage oriented activities meant to both educate and entertain. All entrance fees to the fort have been reduced by 50 per cent to €5 per adult and accompanied children can enter for free. Members will also enter free – for more details visit www.wirtartna.org.

Prayer meeting

A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held on Saturday at Senglea parish church. It will start at 9.45 p.m. with Mass followed by adoration which goes on till midnight.

Epilepsy Association meeting

The Caritas Malta Epilepsy Association will hold its bi-monthly meeting on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Caritas Building, 5, Lion Street, Floriana. Those interested are urged to attend.
