Obituary

GALEA. On December 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTHONY, ex-technician at Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Malta, of Sta Venera, aged 86, residing at Roseville, Balzan, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Benvenuta (Vivi), née Lewis, his children Marstel and her husband Charles Cuschieri and Joseph and his wife Pauline, his beloved grandchildren Paul, Joseph, John, Clara and Katrina, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8 a.m. for the new parish church Sta Venera, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MICALLEF. On December 25, MIRIAM, aged 55, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Mario, her children Marouska and her husband Kenneth, Mariquinia and her nephew Miguel, her mother Grace and her father Francis, as well as other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2.15 p.m. for Mtarfa parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital, will be appreciated.

PICCININO. On December 25, at St Anne Home, Senglea, ANNIE, of Valletta, aged 93, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Carmen and her husband Saviour, Josephine and her husband Paul, Vincent and his wife Rose, Nanette and her husband Charlie of Canada, Frankie and his wife Sonia, Peter and his wife Rose, Victor and his wife Doreen, Mary Rose and her husband Lorry, her 20 grandchildren,18 great-grandchildren and her brother Peter of the UK. The funeral leaves St Anne Home today at 7.45 a.m. for St Dominic parish church, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Christmas classics

Virtuoso duo Marco Misciagna, on violin and viola, and Vito Vilardi, on guitar, will perform Christmas classics at of Our Lady of Victory church in Valletta on Thursday at 7 p.m.

A donation of €15 towards Din l-Art Ħelwa restoration works at Our Lady of Victory church will be appreciated. Children under 10 will be admitted free.
