Obituary
AQUILINA. On August 23, EDGAR of Valletta, aged 93, passed away peacefully at home, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will be greatly missed by his wife Helen, née Saliba, his daughters Mona, Tanya and Stephanie and her husband Gaetano, his beloved grandchildren Mark and Anabelle, in-laws, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Valletta, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
DRAGO. On August 21, GODWIN, BE&A, A&CE, of Sliema, passed away peacefully, aged 88, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Ena, née Nicolas Virtu, his daughter Lorraine and her husband Anthony Miceli Demajo, his son David and his wife Danielle, his grandchildren Luca, Michela, Julian, Sean and Elena, his sister Gladys, widow of Henry Wirth, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral will be held today at the Carmelite parish church, Balluta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
FENECH. On August 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, EVELYN of Sliema, aged 89, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Mark, Sandra, Venera, Martin and Stephen and their respective spouses, her grandchildren Sarah, Simon, Steffie, Davina, Andrea and Maria-Louisa, Lilia, Francesco, Kevin, Darren and David, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.45 a.m. for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
VELLA. On August 23, LINO better known as Fugi (ex-Air Malta) passed away peacefully, aged 59, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and his closest friends. He left to mourn his great loss his close family: Grace, Daniela, Nicholas and his fiancée Corinne, his brothers Joe and Antoine and their respective spouses, his sister Myriam along with all his extended family and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers are requested. However, donations to Hospice Malta will be greatly appreciated.
VELLA. On August 23, MARIA DOLORES née Coleiro k/a DOLLY, aged 99, widow of Henry, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Maria widow of Dr Paul Farrugia, Rose and her husband Lino Abela and her son George residing in the USA, her beloved grandchildren Karen and Anton, Gianrico and Geraldine, Mark and Jo-Anna, Henry and Karen, Christine and Francis, her great-grandchildren Nicholas and his wife Roberta, Matthew, Kristina, Luca, Stefan, Thomas, Paul, Sean and Christopher, her sister Maria Coleiro, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Marija Annunzjata parish church, Balzan, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza in Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
ZAMMIT. On August 22, at Id-Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara, Rev. Mgr. Fr. CARM, Lic.D., of Luqa, aged 80, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brothers and sisters, Moses, Francesco, Cettina Tonna, Joe, Sally Borg, Berta, Massimilla Caruana, their in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends, especially other members of the Clergy. The funeral leaves Id-Dar tal-Kleru today at 8 a.m. for the chapel of Tal-Ftajjar, Luqa, where he will lie in state. Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. at St Andrew’s parish church, Luqa, followed by interment in the family grave at St Andrew’s cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Kleru will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Chinese summer film festival
This year’s Chinese Summer Film Festival will be held on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at the Chinese Garden of Serenity in Santa Luċija.
Three films – Ocean Heaven, The Storm Warriors, and Snowfall in Taipei – will be screened at 8.30 p.m.
The films carry English subtitles. Viewing is open to the public and free of charge. Complimentary refreshments will be served following the screening.
