CIAVOLA AZZOPARDI. On October 9, NIRVANA, aged 40, passed away peacefully. She will be deeply missed by her husband Marius, her sons Sam and Noah, her parents Anna and Joe, her family and many friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30pm for St Julian’s parish church where Mass will be said at 2pm, followed by private interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Nirvana expressed the wish that those attending Mass will not wear black but colours.

PERALTA. On October 8, at St Julian’s, LUCY, widow of Carol and of Roy Flery, aged 99, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her son Hugh and his wife Christine, whom she dearly loved, her grandchildren Filippa and her husband Simon, Carl and his wife Karen, her great-grandchildren Emilia, Paul, Helena and baby Alexander; her brother Louis Naudi, her step-daughter Marla and her husband John Vidrinskas and the Flery family in the USA, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today at 2.30pm at Balzan parish church, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

ZAMMIT GERA. On October 9, at her residence in Ħamrun, CAROLINA passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, at the age of almost 100. After 50 years as a daily voluntary organist at St Francis church, she was bestowed with a spiritual merit and gift – the Franciscan Figliolanza attached to the Maltese Province of St Paul the Apostle of the Franciscan Friars Minor. Also a member of the Franciscan Secular Order, OFS (Third Order instituted by St Francis for lay persons). She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers the Franciscan friars of the Maltese province, her nephews, nieces and their spouses, great nephews and nieces, members of the Franciscan Secular Order, OFS, the choir and the choir master of St Francis church, many relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 2.30pm at St Francis of Assisi church, Villambrosa, Ħamrun, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (entrance back gate, Luqa side). The Ciappara and Borg families (nephews and nieces of Carolina with whom she lived) wish to thank for the spiritual care during her long illness, the parish priest and his vice, Fr Henry Balzan and Fr Joe Gatt, the Franciscan Guardian, Fr Anton Farrugia, OFM, and also all those ministers of the Eucharist. We also wish to thank for the physical care given by the doctor, and her niece Epiphania, who took care of her during the last 10 years, day and night. Prayer: Eternal Father, we offer Thee the body, blood, soul and divinity of Thy most beloved son, Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for the immortal soul of Carolina, and in atonement for our sins and the sins of the whole world.
