FALZON. On November 1, HELEN of Birkirkara, widow of Spiridione, aged 90, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Carmelo, Salvu, Mary, Joe, Sr Doris, OP, Angele and Twanny, their respective spouses, her 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Monday, November 7 at 9am for St Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children Joe and his wife Iris, Carmen and her husband George, Marianne and her husband Alfred, and Josephine and her husband Joe, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, relatives and friends, especially her loving carer Shella. The funeral leaves St Luke’s Hospital mortuary on Friday, November 4 at 2.45pm for Mosta Rotunda parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
GAUCI. On November 1, at her residence in Żurrieq, CARMEN, widow of John, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Joe and his wife Nancy, Ċettina and her husband Elias, Giovanna and her husband Graeme, and Paul and his partner Natasha, her grandchildren Johan, Jurgen, Christina, Carla, AnnaMaria and Miguel, her great-grandchildren Juliette, Thomas, Eli and Mikaiel, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 3.30pm at St Catherine’s parish church, Żurrieq, followed by interment at St Leonard Cemetery, Żurrieq. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
MALLIA. On November 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, IRIS MARY née Saliba of Tal-Ibraġ, aged 83, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Saviour, her daughters Tina, Ruth and her husband Hamish, her grandchildren Eilidh and Ruairidh, her brothers and sisters Francis Saliba, Evarist Saliba, Helen Aquilina, Edward Saliba, Rose Krzyz and their spouses, in-laws, nephews and nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends, and the community of Tal-Ibraġ. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, November 5 for Tal-Ibraġ parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of Mater Dei Hospital for their care and dedication. SPIRO. On October 27, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, AGNES BERTHA (Betty), aged 104. Now at peace. Missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. With deeply heartfelt thanks to Mary Barbara, who made Betty part of her own life, for her selfless love, devotion and care over many years and also to the staff at Casa Antonia, particularly Maryanne Lia who, along with Mary, made Betty’s final years as comfortable as they possibly could. In accordance with her wishes, Betty is to be cremated in England. The world became a duller place without her.
