Marriage

Mr ANDREW MIFSUD and Miss MAXLENE FARRUGIA

The marriage between ANDREW, son of Mr and Mrs Saviour Mifsud of Tal-Virtù, Rabat, and MAXLENE, daughter of Mr and Mrs Michael Farrugia of Żabbar, took place on Saturday, July 8 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta. Fr Gino Cauchi celebrated, assisted by Fr Dominic Cachia MSSP. Witnesses were Ms Dorianne Tabone for the bride, and Mr Aaron Mifsud, the groom’s brother. Best men were Mr Keith Attard, Mr Malcolm Degiorgio and Mr Christopher Pace. Ms Charlene Farrugia, the bride’s sister, was maid of honour, Ms Mariah Zammit and Ms Maria Attard, the bride’s cousins, were bridesmaids while the groom’s niece, Ms Giselle Mifsud, was junior bridesmaid. Master Adam Pace, the groom’s nephew, was ring bearer, while his sister, Ms Krysta Pace, together with Ms Lyla Attard and Ms Eve Cordina, were flower-girls. Dr Alec Mifsud, the groom’s brother, Mr Clinton Mifsud, Mr Malcolm Scicluna, Ms Rebecca Borg and Ms Marylyn Agius were ushers and usherettes respectively. A reception was later held at Alpha Gardens, Attard. The couple are spending their honeymoon in Mexico, Cuba and The Bahamas.

On July 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELO, of Mosta, aged 67, passed peacefully away surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his wife Monica née Maggi, his daughter Pamela, his son Antoine, his grandchild Enriquez whom he loved so dearly, his sisters Jane, Joyce, Mary, Lilian and Evelyn, his in-laws Natalie, Vince, Maria, Anna and Carmen, Miriam, widow of Joseph, and all their families, rela­tives and numerous friends. He was beloved by everyone. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Monday, July 31 for Mosta parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BARBARA. On July 29, at Hilltop Gardens, Naxxar, CARMEL, aged 95, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Marie Therese and her husband Wilfred Mallia, Antoinette and her husband Richard Galea, Joseph and his wife Anna and Suzanne and her husband Evan Mohnani, his grandchildren Roberta and Michael, Andrew and Lara, Mark, David, Lisa and Matthew, Michaela, Julian, Rebecca, Karl and Lara, his great-grandchildren Sean, Anna, Amy, Sophie and Beppe, his nephews and nieces and their families, other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

On July 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, THERESA (Terry), née Crockford, of Sliema, following a brief period of ill health, passed peacefully away surrounded by her family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her husband Tony, her children and their partners Simon and Naila, Jeremy and Veronica, Andrew and Michelle, Katherine and Paul, Philip and Helen and grandchildren Matthew, David, Michael, Charlotte, Thomas, Alex, Teddy, Rosa, Kit and Rafael as well as other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, August 1 at 9am for Stella Maris parish church in Sliema where Mass praesente cadavere will be said for the repose of her soul at 9.30am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. CUTAJAR. On July 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, GEORGE (Piccolin), aged 70, of Birkirkara, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his dearest wife Melita, his brothers and sisters, in-laws and their families, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. D’ANASTASI. On July 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, Major CARMEL (Danny) D’ANASTASI, MBE, RMA, of Rabat, aged 98, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sons Charles and his wife Connie, Godwin and his wife Mariosa and Emmy and his wife Angele, his daughters Anna and her husband Christopher Busuttil, and Patricia Pace, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Monday, July 31 at 8am for St Dominic’s church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
