A heated family argument landed a young man in court yesterday after the police were called in to calm things down.

Michael Cassar, 24, pleaded not guilty to assaulting, resisting and slightly injuring a policeman during an incident outside his family’s business in Qormi on Wednesday.

A family member called the police. When they arrived, the accused was aggressive towards them, ordering them to leave because they had no right to be on his property.

Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna granted him bail against a personal guarantee of €1,000.

Lawyer Matthew Brincat appeared for Mr Cassar.
