A Swiss man was arraigned yesterday after he allegedly stole a mobile phone and cash from a club in Paceville on Friday night. Cyrill Schmid, 19, who lives in Malta, pleaded not guilty to stealing the items, worth over €232, and committing a crime while under the operative period of a court sentence.

He was refused bail and remanded in preventive custody.

Police Inspectors Luke Bonello, Rosanne Debattista and Godwin Scerri prosecuted.
