BNI celebrated two years in Malta by presenting 12 awards to members during its first annual awards dinner at the Radisson Blu Golden Sands Resort.

Malta has an incredible network of Maltese

As part of the largest business networking organisation in the world, Malta BNI is made up of four chapters made up of members who build long-term relationships and are committed to helping one another tap more business under BNI’s Givers Gain philosophy.

The dinner was addressed by Economy Minister Chris Cardona, who lauded BNI Malta as a “disciplined, diverse and determined organisation spreading across our country.”

“Malta has an incredible network of Maltese in major countries across the world. This is a latent asset which international organisations, such as BNI, can help us develop,” he said.

As BNI founder Ivan Misner explains, BNI is about creating an awareness of the process of networking. Not just any kind of networking, but ‘relationship networking’– an approach to doing business based on building long-term, successful relationships with people through the networking process.

The awardees were Jankarl Farrugia (outstanding ambassador), Carmel Bonello, Stanley Bonello and Matthew Sammut (outstanding vice-presidents), Steve Micallef and Nicolette Micallef (outstanding presidents), Enrich Stafrace (outstanding visitor host), Mandy Mifsud (best education co-ordinator), Ian Hawkes, Etienne Scerri, Luke Gatt and Jeffrey Romano (outstanding contribution).

Representatives of The Palace Hotel, Sliema, Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard, Phoenicia Hotel, Floriana, and the Radisson Blu, St Julian’s were presented with plaques in recognition of their support for hosting BNI meetings.

“These first annual awards were held to recognise and celebrate the achievements of several Malta BNI members,” Malta BNI director David Bullock said.
