Mario Dingli (‘Power to change things’, October 31) is almost correct. Politics is dead. It is dead in Malta and Europe. Dead in the US and dead in the UK.
Politics is dead because it fails to meet the world populations’ spiritual and economic needs. The current brand of politics is born out of selfishness, greed, hate and prejudice.
The current brand of politics creates wars, then more wars. Politics creates inequality, poverty, famine, disease and destroys nations, countries, economies and families.
Dingli’s suggestion that we just carry on voting for the politician who will do least harm cannot be correct, surely.
The answers may be elusive but would Christian values, including dialogue and discussion, based on respect and consideration for each other, be a starting point? Back to basics. Back to the Bible.
