The Balzan local council will once again be organising the Balzan Arts & Music Festival on Friday at 8pm in the main square. The event celebrates the multi-culturalism of the village through music, art and cuisine.
The festival will offer a number of live musical sessions. The Spiteri Lucas Band, who will be joined by popular singers Janvil & Michela Galea, will play various classic pop songs together with contemporary music.
Ta’ Seguna Folk Group will also perform during the event with traditional Maltese music.
The local council, in collaboration with the Faculty for the Built Environment at the University of Malta, will be hosting a contemporary arts exhibition in the public garden situated in the square. The exhibition will consist of eight art installations designed by the students themselves and will be launched during the event.
Visitors will have a wide variety of foods and drinks to choose from, with stalls being hosted by local non-governmental organisations, charities and by the refugees. These include stalls with Maltese, Italian and Somalian cuisine, BBQ and desserts. All the organisations taking part will be offering a healthy meal for those attending the festival.
