A bad motorcycle accident on the Coast Road has left a Serb fighting for his life after the bike smashed into a water bowser, scattering debris over 30 metres away.

The driver’s Serbian friend, riding pillion, was seriously hurt as both men came off the powerful Suzuki GSX racing bike and landed 15 metres apart on the tarmac.

The victims are Sirak Dalibor, who was driving, and Igor Bacanin.

The front part of the motorcycle was decimated and the front of the water bowser, which belongs to General Cleaners, was badly damaged.

However, the driver of the truck, a 47-year-old man from Naxxar, escaped unharmed.

Police sources suspect the two Serbs were swerving around the road before impact.

It is believed that the accident was recorded on a tiny camera clipped to the front of the bike.

The men were taken to hospital in two ambulances. Mr Dalibor is in a critical condition while Mr Bacanin sustained multiple fractures. The road was closed for two hours until the site was cleared.
