CSB Group and the Malta Institute of Management have joined forces to co-organise the first Malta eBusiness Seminar at the Westin Dragonara Hotel, St Julian’s on May 2.

It is likely that the business community is not making the most of the e-business boom

The programme is targeted at the e-commerce industry’s premier players and aims to create an opportunity to share best practice.

Participants will be able to source e-commerce solutions while networking with market-leading suppliers who have helped pioneer the local e-commerce revolution as business owners bid to increase their online presence and sales.

The event could also serve as a platform that should attract service providers within the digital marketing, mobile, payments, security and legal ambits.

E-commerce is booming but it is likely that the business community is not making the most of it. Establishing an online presence has become a mandatory part of doing business, with most companies across the world owning and operating, wholly or partially, through a website.

“E-business is the future – as more organisations jump on the bandwagon, it is important not to be left behind,” MIM’s Nicola Mizzi says. “This seminar explores the benefits of taking one’s business online while helping the local business community achieve e-commerce business success, increase online sales, while familiarising oneself with local, EU-wide and global trends.”

‘‘E-commerce growth is exceeding that of other retail channels. The overarching theme of our event is the exploration of the benefits of taking one’s business online, the ways of doing it and the opportunities lying in wait,” CSB Group marketing executive Diane Borg Bascetta explained. ‘‘The event will be an educational meeting of great e-commerce minds showcasing the latest ideas in action, discussing effective e-commerce strategies, how to tackle pitfalls and learn about related legal implications from a regulatory perspective.’’

Among the interactive items on the agenda are website compliance and distance selling, online payment and security issues, key operational challenges, market insights and consumer expectations, web and social media marketing, search engine optimisation and various useful business cases and panel discussions.
