Possibly one of the hardest-working Maltese bands around, Cable 35’s profile has certainly experienced a boost since the young trio first set off to tour Europe in their customised touring van some years back.

Now spending more time on the continent than on the island, Cable 35’s reputation as an explosive live act has been gaining ground, particularly on the UK music scene thanks to their consistent gigging schedule around the UK as well as the occasional jaunt across the channel to mainland Europe.

Sticking together through thick and thin, Jeff, Chris and Kriz have managed to land some prestigious gigs and festival slots, playing to small and large audiences alike with equal verve and passion. Their efforts haven’t gone unnoticed either, as the increasing number of reviews about them on the internet suggests. A quick browse through some of the reviews reveals that the Maltese lads are doing something right, with plaudits pouring in from various bloggers and reviewers as much about the dynamism they display onstage as for the grating grunge-induced hard rock that informs the bulk of their acclaimed 2011 debut album Louder.

Earlier this month, Cable 35 played at The Enterprise in London’s Camden Town and the Tramlines Festival in Sheffield, and come August 25, they’ll be heading up north to play at the Ravelength Festival in Manchester and the Phantomfest in Loughborough. Before that, however, they will be in Malta to perform alongside Three Stops to China, Dolls for Idols and Stolen Creep at the Farsons Great Beer Festival on Wednesday night.
