Expoline Malta, an NGO working on cultural and artistic events, and the Birkirkara local council are producing L-Ilma, l-Akwadott u l-Arkata ta’ Fleur-De-Lys – a social, educational and cultural project which centres around the theme of ‘water’ as a scarce, vital resource, aimed at the public, in particular children and youth.

The main events, taking place tomorrow, on Friday and on Saturday, will be located in the Aqueduct area where the Fleur-de-Lys Arch has been reconstructed, and in the Fleur-De-Lys playground.

Tomorrow sees the official inauguration of the Fleur-De-Lys Arch at 7pm.

Starting at 10am, Friday’s programme will be dedicated to schoolchildren, with the Catch the Drop campaign.

Also included will be animated and hands-on workshops with historians, artists and performers. Students will also perform songs and short plays related to water history, conservation and the Fleur-De-Lys Arch.

The three-day event ends on Saturday at 7.30pm with dance shows as well as theatre performances and music related to the main theme of water and the aqueduct, as well as on-site painting by professionals, students and the public.

There will also be informative discussions on the aqueduct and the Fleur-De-Lys Arch.
