Slowly but surely, Joseph Muscat is losing ground. His intransigence over keeping Michael Falzon and now Ian Borg at the helm of their respective portfolios is costing him a lot. I wish to remind him that their positions are no longer tenable

And what about Joe Debono Grech? Not the slightest whisper from Muscat, as if this outrage by the honourable member was merely a silly joke that reminded us of the golden years of Labour. We knew then what they were capable of doing, yet people readily gave them another chance to govern.

On the contrary, it looks like Simon Busuttil is gaining ground. Gone are the 36,000 votes that elected Labour to government after years and years in the wilderness.

Unfortunately, we have not got the government we deserve, the government we were promised, the government with a new way of doing politics, with a vision, a road map, transparency and meritocracy. People voted for a serious government, for leadership by example.

However, we now have a government for the selected few, which schemes and plots against a capable, honest and serious contender in Busuttil The change from Lawrence Gonzi’s government to the one run by Muscat is dramatic. But not everyone is a fool nowadays. And in two years’ time people will have another chance to settle accounts.
