Last week hundreds of Delicata clients turned up at the company’s winery on Paola Waterfront for Christmas drinks.

The annual event took place in Delicata’s state-of-the-art fermentation hall where a selection of the award-winning winemakers DOK and IGT quality wines were made freely available for their guests to try. Loyal clients from Malta’s retail, hotel, restaurant and catering sectors all turned up for the event.

A spokesperson from Delicata said: “These annual Christmas drinks of ours have become a popular event among our clients. Although each year space becomes tighter and tighter, as our fermentation hall slowly fills up with new equipment and tanks that we are constantly investing in, we still manage to entertain a good crowd”.

Guests were welcomed with a glass of semi-sparkling Girgentina Frizzante and hot and cold canapés.

There were a number of other wines available for clients to try including the new 2012 vintage Victoria Heights Chardonnay from Gozo. Premium wines such as Grand Vin de Hauteville Viognier and Shiraz Cabernet were firm favourites as usual, as were the two Delicata rosé wines on offer – the Pjazza Regina and Medina Syrah Grenache.
