San Anton School, Imselliet, l/o Mġarr, is holding a Christmas market today from 10.30am to 5pm.
The event offers a festive and fun day out for the whole family.
Stalls have been set up selling traditional decorations, gift-wrapping, home accessories, giftware, jewellery, wooden toys, advent calendars, Poinsettia and Holly plants, chocolates, children’s gifts, toys, gourmet foods, spices, festive treats, home-made jams and chutneys.
At Santa’s Grotto, children will be able to meet the ‘real’ Santa Claus. There is also a live crib in the school picnic area under a large carob tree with San Anton School children playing the respective roles. The crib includes a wooden stable with sheep, lambs and a donkey provided by local farmers to transform the area into a typical nativity scene.
Children can listen to stories, write their letter to Santa, participate in Christmas art and crafts, jewellery-making and baking workshops. They can also enjoy playing in bouncy castles or take a ride in a go-cart.
Visitors will be able to meet members of the cast in this year’s traditional Christmas pantomime by FM Theatre Productions, Pinocchio, and buy tickets for the performance.
The market is a fundraising event for the school. Admission is free.
