we care LIVE launched
Elderly persons who live alone and other individuals who wish to live independently and continue with their normal, daily lives can benefit from a new service, we care LIVE.
The service, a joint venture between We Care Ltd and Handson Systems Ltd, combines a state-of-the-art pocket-sized device that uses a GPS and links through GSM networks to a call centre that operates 24 hours a day seven days a week to enable users to be in touch wherever they are.
The device has a Panic button to alert the we care LIVE call centre as well as a motion sensor which alerts the call centre if the person falls. The GPS indicates the location of the device holder wherever that person is in Malta and Gozo.
DHL pharma flights
DHL has launched an air freight service for temperature-controlled pharmaceutical and life sciences shipments.
DHL Thermonet provides enhanced visibility, including temperature, of the shipments throughout the global network.
The new service was launched at the second annual DHL Life Sciences Dialogue, attended by representatives from nine Malta-based pharmaceutical com-panies. Particular focus through-out this year’s workshop were the new EU GDP (Good Distribution Practices) guidelines, which went into effect in early September, their first update since 1994.
The revised GDP guidelines place particular focus on product safety and integrity throughout the entire pharmaceutical supply Schain.
The DHL Life Sciences Dialogue was jointly hosted by BAS Ltd, the exclusive agent for DHL Global Forwarding in Malta.
