Italian Paolo di Fonzo has reached an agreement with the Malta Basketball Association (MBA) to become the coach of the men’s national team.

Paul Sultana, the recently-elected MBA president, announced Di Fonzo’s appointment during a meeting with the members of the men’s national squad.

Di Fonzo, who replaces Bruno di Pietrantonio, will be travelling to Malta to hold a series of training camps. The first one, spread over three days, begins on September 25. At the same time, Di Fonzo will also conduct a training camp for the U-16 boys’ national team.

The former Virtus Roma coach will also be responsible for drawing up a coaching framework for the coaches in charge of the junior national teams.
