Nothing alights the imagination quite like Disney productions, and following last year’s hugely successful Disney In Concert at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra is this year bringing to our shores the magical musical Fantasia.

Disney Fantasia is a performance of timeless classics with live symphonic masterpieces by the MPO.

The MPO will be accompanying scenes from the original classical film Fantasia (1940) and that issued again in 2000.

Selecting a magnificent repertoire from both films, the national orchestra will be performing Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite, Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite and more.

Other iconic moments will – for the first time in Malta – simultaneously be shown on a large screen accompanying the music, under the baton of conductor Brian Schembri at the MCC in Valletta.

Through this production the MPO is once again finding innovative ways of bringing culture and classical music closer to a younger audience, this time using Disney characters which never fail to capture our imagination.

The production consists of two concerts being held on Saturday, matinée at 3pm and soirée at 7.30pm.

The show is recommended for both adults and children, however, suggested as being more suitable from ages 6 upwards.
