The Legion of Mary (Gozo) organised an ecumenical celebration at St Augustine’s church, Victoria, during the Octave of Prayers for Christian Unity.

On behalf of the Augustinian community, Fr Peter Paul Cachia, OSA, welcomed the congregation, including Bishop Mario Grech and the Chancellor of St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Canon Simon Godfrey.

In a short sermon Mgr Grech spoke on the need of evangelisation of the Gospel to everyone, while Canon Godfrey said that unity can be achieved through proper Christian education and prayer.

Bible excerpts and a testimony of faith were read by Tessa Bicker, Carole McLaren, Judith Pugh and Jacquie Vassallo.

The Chorus Urbanus, under the direction of Mro John Galea, sang various hymns, including St Francis’ hymn Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace.
