Malta is sadly one of those primitive countries that believes it is right to impose VAT on learning and literature (including on our newspapers).
So when I buy books from some overseas retailers they add the Maltese tax to the selling price.
My questions are these:
Does Malta actually receive the tax that foreign booksellers charge on its behalf, and if so, how, and how much is it worth?
When will the Maltese realise that imposing a tax on education is actually self-defeating?
