Euroclassica recently held its yearly conference in Malta. Euroclassica is an organisation that seeks to promote the studying and appreciation of Classics in Europe and to encourage cooperation between national organisations with the same aim and objectives.
The conference, organised and administered by the Malta Classics Association and Professor Horatio C. R. Vella, was attended by 45 classics teachers and professors from Malta, Croatia, England, Luxembourg, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, Lithuania, Belgium, Spain, Germany, France, Sweden, Portugal, Chile, Netherlands and Romania.
Euroclassica also launched a new book, European Symbols: United in Adversity, that draws on Europe’s common classical heritage to promote both the classics and a pan-European spirit.
At the quadrennial elections, John Bulwer was elected president and a new executive council was formed.
