Examinees rush across a cordon towards a classroom building to take part in a three-day entrance exam for postgraduate studies, at Anhui University, in Hefei, Anhui province, China, yesterday. About 1.8 million people this year applied to sit for the exam, which started yesterday. The number of examinees reached a record high in history, according to local media.
