Songwriter Diane Lampert, who wrote lyrics for The Beatles and Brenda Lee, has died, aged 88.
Her husband, Fred Stuart, said she died of heart failure on Friday at a Manhattan hospital.
She was a writer on a Beatles song, Nothin’ Shakin’ (But the Leaves on the Trees), although it was not released until 1994 on Live at the BBC. The accomplished songwriter provided lyrics to title songs for more than 20 films, and helped provide music for movies starring Cary Grant, Buster Keaton and Bob Hope.
She is survived by Stuart, president of Rainbow Music, her husband of 45 years.
