On October 11, days after the signing of an agreement between France and Malta on space applications, French Ambassador Béatrice Le Fraper du Hellen visited yet another example of successful bilateral cooperation between France and Malta: the Solar Research Lab of the Institute for Sustainable Energy  (University of Malta) in Marsaxlokk.

Guided by the director of the institute, Prof. Luciano Mulé Stagno, she visited the labs where devices are designed to build the new generation of solar panels.

Ms Le Fraper du Hellen said: “The innovative work of the Institute for Solar Energy is recognised by the research departments of leading French companies, including Eren Renewable Energy from Total Group.”

She also met 11 French students from the EPF engineering school of Montpellier currently interning at the Solar Research Lab. She noted that a number of French labs would in turn receive Maltese interns: calls for applications will be issued before the end of the year and published on the French Embassy website.
