A new 2012 vintage Victoria Heights Cabernet Sauvignon has recently been released onto the local market by Emmanuel Delicata. This latest red addition to the popular DOK Gozo wine range actually replaces the previous blend of Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc.
The Victoria Heights range, first released in 2001, has won seven international awards over the years and consists of four wines: Chardonnay, Rosé Shiraz, Merlot and the new Cabernet Sauvignon. The Chardonnay and Merlot are also available in half bottles.
This DOK Gozo quality wine is made entirely from hand-picked Gozo-grown Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, harvested from selected family-run, boutique vineyards. The wine is full-bodied, concentrated and packed with ripe fruit flavours, reminiscent of blackcurrants and blueberries.
It has all the characteristics of a classic Cabernet Sauvignon – well-structured with soft ripe tannins – and is an ideal winter wine to accompany red meats, lamb, rabbit and meat-based pasta dishes. Ideally, allow the wine to breathe for an hour before serving.
