A 17-year-old girl from Mosta was seriously injured yesterday morning when she was struck by a car while crossing December 13 Road in Marsa.

The victim was hit by a Toyota Vitz driven by a 35-year-old man from Vittoriosa at 9 a.m. near the statue of Our Lady.

Part of the road was temporarily closed as the girl was taken to hospital. Her condition is not critical, however.

This was the third serious incident on December 13 Road in the space of a week. Last Monday, a man was hit by a taxi near the Blata l-Bajda flyover, and five people were injured, one of them seriously, in a collision involving a taxi and a car last Friday.
