Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has defended his Gozo Minister after a ferry was ordered to pick him up and other waiting passengers. Last night he dismissed the controversy as “case closed”.
Dr Muscat said Gozo Channel’s policy had been breached and “it was clear” that Anton Refalo was acting to uphold a company policy, although he did not say what this policy was.
Speaking to Times of Malta on condition of anonymity, various Gozo Channel employees denied such a policy existed. In practice, it always used to send one of its ferries relieved from the shuttle service empty to dock for the night at Mġarr.
