A demonstration green roof garden has been opened at the University of Malta’s Faculty for the Built Environment. It was set up as part of the EU-funded LifeMedGreenRoof project to show architects, designers, students and the public what a green roof could look like in Malta and its benefits.

Green roofs provide peaceful and pleasant places for people to relax in and spaces for children to play and observe nature. Their insulation properties could also save on energy costs by cooling the living space beneath in summer and keeping it warmer in winter.

The green roof is open to the public all the year round from 9am to 5pm. Interested groups can also book a guided tour.
