A new performance season kicks off at the Manoel Theatre this week with a show by world musicians Gypsy Devils.

In a departure from the traditional opening classical concerts, the group will deliver an eclectic programme combining classical, jazz, flamenco and gypsy music.

The Gypsy Devils are one of the world’s most respected ensembles in the category of ethno and world music. Made up of eight musicians, the band has a worldwide following, having performed on all five continents and in 35 countries.

Prices for the Manoel Theatre performances remain unchanged from last year, and for nearly all the shows a 50 per cent discount is offered to senior citizens, full-time students and under-25s on selected seats. The theatre also accepts the Culture Card.

The Gypsy Devils will be performing on Tuesday at the Manoel Theatre, Valletta, at 8pm. They will also performing at a free 40-minute event strictly for teenagers on tomorrow, as part of the theatre’s Toi Toi education programme.
