Nearly half of guests are happy to steal items from hotel rooms, according to a survey.
As many as 59 per cent reckon it is fine to pinch shampoo and 29 per cent make off with stationery, the poll by travel website Hotwire.com found.
As many as seven per cent think it is all right to take towels and the same number feel no guilt about nicking alcoholic drinks.
Also, nine per cent would take slippers and per cent would walk out with soft drinks.
Overall, 46 per cent of the 2,024 adults interviewed reckoned it was acceptable to nick stuff from hotels, with men, Londoners and younger tourists being the worst offenders.
Scots are least likely to pinch items. Of those who did take stuff, 12 per cent did it for the thrill, while 11 per cent thought the hotel would not care.
