The winning quote that inspired many to vote Labour was Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s “Your children are my children”, which he quoted in one of his mass meetings during the election campaign.
Besides his very good track record during his four years at the helm, the timing of the election and the weak Nationalist Party strategy based on fear of the Labour Party, the Prime Minister’s quote was an excellent vote catcher, especially with young families. May the Opposition come up with a fresh face in their leadership race, remove the old clique and make way for some fresh, talented newcomers.
A strong Opposition is the sign of a healthy democracy.
