The two-year Comenius project Harmony for Earth, for Life and for People (Help) in which Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School, Naxxar, was a partner, held its last meeting at a school in Cagliari, Sardinia.
The environmental project dealt with biodiversity, pollution, conservation, the ozone layer, waste management and alternative forms of energy. It also focused on ways in which people can live in harmony with the surrounding environment. This aspect of the project included themes such as healthy food, exercise, addictions and interpersonal tolerance.
In Sardinia the participants also visited natural attractions of the Sinis Peninsula where local cultural and historical heritage is preserved through a sustainable, green tourism model. They also visited the Molentargius nature reserve, an expansive wetland area that is home to thousands of flamingos.
The project was supported by the Lifelong Learning programme through the European Union Programmes Agency in Malta.
