InterContinental Malta’s chefs performed outstandingly at the recent Malta Kulinarija 2018.
The hotel’s team of chefs, led by executive chef Roger Friggieri, won a medal for each entry with which they participated.
The prestigious ‘Chef of the Year’ award was won by executive sous chef Brady Dalli, who next year will be competing in the Global Chef Challenge.
The Malta Kulinarja Cookery and Culinary Arts Championships, organised by the Malta Chef Society, was held last month at the MFCC, Ta’ Qali.
The participants in the competition include trainees, kitchen artists and chefs from Malta’s top restaurants and hotels.
The evaluation process includes flavour, presentation, composition, technical skills and other measurable benchmarks.
Martin van Kan, area general manager Malta, said:
“I am immeasurably proud of our entire kitchen brigade. Each and every one of them have outdone themselves.
“I had no doubt that our chefs were going to do a brilliant job, as on a daily basis I have the pleasure to see the extraordinary quality of cuisine they offer our guests and that we are able to display and present in such a spectacular manner.”
