South Korea striker Ji Dong-Won, last week’s loan signing from Borussia Dortmund, scored on his Bundesliga debut to help Augsburg draw 2-2 at his parent club yesterday.

The result means third-placed Dortmund have failed to win at home in their last four games.

The hosts twice took the lead through Sven Bender and Nuri Sahin but Augsburg, who had not scored two goals away from home all season, roared back on each occasion.

Bayer Leverkusen, second in the table, fared even worse as Freiburg twice came from a goal down to snatch a 3-2 victory with substitute Felix Klaus grabbing the winner in the last minute.

Bayer Leverkusen have 37 points from 18 games, 10 behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Borussia Dortmund are on 33 points, the same as fourth-placed Borussia Moenchengladbach who lost 2-0 to Bayern on Friday.

Leverkusen went ahead after four minutes when Lars Bender’s low 22-metre drive beat Oliver Baumann.

Admir Mehmedi’s shot from the edge of the box drew Freiburg level before a header by Simon Rolfes put the visitors back in front after 35 minutes.

Jonathan Schmid again levelled for the home team before Klaus secured maximum points when he beat the offside trap.

Sven Bender was also on target, a minute after his twin brother Lars, as last season’s Champions League runners-up Borussia Dortmund looked to end a run of three consecutive home defeats.

Bender then put the ball through his own net to draw ninth-placed Augsburg level.

Sahin floated a free-kick over the wall and into the net in the 66th minute before the 22-year-old Ji broke Dortmund hearts with a header 18 minutes from time.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski suffered a suspected cruciate ligament injury against Augsburg that could rule him out for months, the club said.

“Kuba with a suspected torn anterior cruciate ligament. Final diagnosis yet to be made on Sunday afternoon,” the club said on Twitter during the game.

The Poland international went down following a challenge after six minutes into the Bundesliga game.

Dortmund take on Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League round of 16 next month.

They are already without injured central defenders Mats Hummels and Neven Subotic as well as playmaker Ilkay Guendogan.

Elsewhere, second from bottom Nuremberg finally recorded their first league win of the season, crushing Hoffenheim 4-0, while Hanover 96 eased past Wolfsburg 3-1.
