Kimberley Downs and Zandina Boshoeve won the major races at the Marsa racetrack yesterday.
The only flat race on the card was contested between six horses.
Irish mare Enthrall (Demis Zammit) was first out of the blocks, opening a length’s lead from Gold As Good, mounted by Eric Zammit, and favourite Kimberley Downs with Michael Sultana as jockey.
With some 700m to go, Enthrall was overtaken by Gold As Good but this runner was unable to sustain the challenge till the end as Kimberley Downs rushed in for its seventh consecutive win.
Japanese Zen (Charles Pace) was second ahead of Gold As Good and Key Art (Sarah Borg).
In the Premier Class race, favourite Zandina Boshoeve (Rodney Gatt) made a strong dash from the outside 500m from the post.
This Swedish mare went unchallenged before notching its third win ahead of Ego Sanna (David Ellul).
