The first cricket game for 2012 was a Winter League fixture involving Krishna and Melita at the Marsa oval, last weekend.
Melita batted first with Dave Borg and Tim Wheeler at the crease.
Wheeler was first to go, giving Tony Slater the first wicket for 2012, this in the first over of the day.
Borg went on to score 11 runs which included one boundary.
Frank Spiteri batted well and scored 25 runs from 23 balls before being caught. He scored two 4s along the way and Andy Lenard made 16 before retiring.
Andy Naudi was going along quite well, having 23 runs from 15 balls until he tried to hit a Ronnie Sacco off-spinner for a six and only got as far as Slater.
The two Justins, Farrin-Thorne and Brooke, only managed two and three runs respectively as Chris Naudi made 18 and remained not out.
Adam Krishna held his fort well for 13 balls and also remained not out with one run.
Ronnie Sacco was the main wicket-taker with three.
Krishna went out all guns blazing, with Nowell Khosla retiring on 38 and Glen Tavilla scoring 43.
Joy Ghoseroy added nine and Darren Grech made the winning runs required for victory with a pull shot to the boundary.
Krishna earned seven points while Melita returned home with a single point.
Melita will try to make amends in their next match on Saturday against Marsa.
