The Cavalieri Hotel in St Julian’s will once again be hosting a programme of 24 events throughout this month, with proceeds going to L-Istrina.

The events, some of which will be held at other locations, will come to an end on Friday with a live performance by Zoo Entertainment at the Attard parish auditorium.

The President’s wife Margaret Abela attended the launch of the programme of events, which took place at the Cavalieri Hotel in the presence of general manager Mark Camilleri.

Mrs Abela thanked the hotel’s management and staff and said it was encouraging to see companies taking the initiative to organise their own events in collaboration with the Malta Community Chest Fund.

The 24 events are spread over two weeks and include football, swimming, tugs-of-war, open bus tours, wine and beer festivals, cocktail competitions, live bands and pet walks.

The launch was followed by a preview of some of the activities that are taking place during the fund-raising event.
