Some 110 subjects at different levels are being offered by the Education Ministry as part of a drive to encourage lifelong learning.
Last year, more than 13,000 people attended these courses, most of whom were over 45 years old.
Lessons in core subjects Maltese, English, maths and science will be free, while the fees for other subjects may vary up to about €50 for an entire course.
Addressing the media at a lifelong learning stand in Republic Street in Valletta, Education Minister Evarist Bartolo, pictured left, yesterday said one of the aims this year would be to have more students learning foreign languages.
He remarked that only 40 per cent of students could speak three or more languages.
Applications close on September 5, and the full course list is available at www.lifelonglearning.gov.mt.
