Last week, I took the Arriva X2 bus from the Exiles bus stop on Tower Road, Sliema, to Luqa airport. The journey took one hour and 15 minutes and went via Birkirkara, Paola and God knows where else.

However, may I inquire why this excruciating journey should also include a stop just outside Mater Dei Hospital’s main entrance? Yes, I did say Mater Dei Hospital!

Why? Does Arriva expect most of the (hospital) patients to head straight for Luqa airport once discharged? The mind boggles …
