Terry Shaw (February 1) tried in vain to disprove what I had said that “there can never be love but only lust between homosexuals”. Besides, he gave no proof as to why my ideas were ‘bigoted’.

I just expressed the truth about homosexual acts.

Shaw says he has spent 33 years in a homosexual relationship. That proves nothing. You can spend 100. That does in no way prove that a sexual relationship between gays amounts to love. Lust it is and lust it will remain.

If he sincerely believes that “nature is what it is”, then he must necessarily come to only one conclusion, namely that between homosexuals there cannot be love but lust. The very sexual act done against the natural order is lust in the fullest sense of the word. It is unnatural. It debases nature. It is selfish under every aspect.

Love is both spiritual and natural. On the spiritual level, homosexual acts are against God’s loving law for us. On the natural level, they go against nature’s intrinsic purpose of all its sexual organs.

As for Shaw’s remark that “his threats of Hell are futile”, he slipped again because it was not I but God Himself who had warned us about Hell.

The sixth and ninth Commandments prohibit under pain of grievous sin any interior or exterior sexual act outside marriage. So I ask what love is it between homosexuals to go against God’s commandments and offend Him grievously? Love leads to God, lust leads to the devil. Love is a virtue, lust is a vice.

My letter was entitled Gay Union Is No Marriage and I made a number of arguments to prove it. Shaw did not produce a single argument to prove the contrary.
